EC Workshop on Spectrum Sharing by Using Geo-location Databases

EC logo 144x100Zetacast was pleased to support Microsoft at the European Commission’s “Workshop on Spectrum Sharing by Using Geo-location Databases”, held in Brussels on 20 March 2015.

Due to the increasing demand for spectrum in many sectors, there is a growing need to use spectral resource more efficiently.  The use of spectrum sharing techniques such as TV White Spaces can allow specific channels at specific locations to be assigned to secondary users in such a way that the primary user of the band (the incumbent) does not experience harmful interference.

This workshop discussed the advantages of introducing geo-location databases to support the efficient use of spectrum, highlighting the advantages for regulators and spectrum users as well as the potential issues to be solved in order to allow the effective use and maintenance of the databases.  For further information please see the agenda and the slides presented at the workshop. A recording of the entire workshop is also available.
