Zetacast participated in the 131st MPEG meeting, which took place from 29 June to 3 July 2020. Like MPEG 130, this was held online as a virtual meeting.

A major outcome of the meeting was the finalization of Versatile Video Coding (VVC) standard, which will be published by ITU-T as H.266 and by ISO/IEC as MPEG-I Part 3 (ISO/IEC 23090-3). Supplemental Enhancement Information (SEI) messages and Video Usage Information (VUI) are moved into a separate specification named Versatile Supplemental Enhancement Information messages for coded video bitstreams (VSEI). This will be published as ITU-T Recommendation H.274 | ISO/IEC 23002-7.

There are six Profiles in version 1 of VVC:

• Main 10 4:2:0 still picture
• Main 10 4:4:4 still picture
• Main 10 4:2:0
• Main 10 4:4:4
• Main 10 4:2:0 multilayer
• Main 10 4:4:4 multilayer
